When removing adhesive or foil residues, you need to know what you’re doing. Before you know it, you could have polishing marks or other damage to the topcoat due to improper use. We use the right materials, chemicals, and high-pressure machines for this. We do this based on knowledge, experience, and many completed projects.

Coated surfaces of profiles and panels are very sensitive to polishing and are not suitable for every chemical agent.

There are risks associated with every project; we make an assessment beforehand regarding the nature of the contamination. Usually, we apply a test piece to minimize risks and ensure the correct product is used. Based on our knowledge and experience, we know how to avoid certain pitfalls and apply the right technique. This can vary from project to project.

Our advice is to follow the supplier’s instructions, as one type of foil is not the same as another. Removing the foil immediately when hoisting panels and sheets is often the best approach. Dark colors absorb more heat, which leads to adhesive residues forming more quickly. Seasonal changes in winter and summer also play a role. Adhesive foils are often water-based products, and prolonged exposure to water can cause the adhesive to dissolve from the foil.

Once adhesive residues are present on the panel or profiles, it does not affect the quality of the product or coating. However, it is often aesthetically unpleasing. Dust and dirt easily adhere to the remaining adhesive. After prolonged exposure to sun and heat, cleaning becomes increasingly difficult. We have encountered situations where the adhesive has burned into the pores of the top coating, causing it to harden completely and become one with the surface.

If the adhesive residues have truly burned into the pores of the topcoat and have hardened, there is nothing left to do but sand and repaint. We can do this as well.
