Resolving Color Differences
If you replace old parts of your building or expand it, color differences may appear on your roof, facade, or components. This usually doesn’t look aesthetically pleasing or representative. Weather effects and aging can also cause colors to change.
Achieving the exact same color is not easy. Despite having the same RAL code or name, each paint may have a slightly different shade or undertone. Color differences may occur with each delivery or batch of pre-painted steel or aluminum. With metallic paint, there’s an additional factor: metallic particles can rest on the surface in different ways, creating a light or dark effect. This is called the ‘flop’ and can cause a difference in color effect, even though the color itself is the same. Think of it like a carpet or suede that changes shade when brushed.
