Professionally removing graffiti

It may just be the result of a little mischief, but it's always a nuisance. Graffiti on your building will immediately affect its entire look. On top of that, graffiti artists often use cheap and aggressive spray paints or other paint types, which may damage the materials below. Over time, this will result in serious damage. It's important, therefore, to have the graffiti professionally removed as soon as possible.

Graffiti sprayed onto pre-coated steel is often removed using aggressive detergents or blasting methods. This may remove the graffiti, but will also damage the materials below. This method will always leave marks or damage the coating.

Van Heemskerk professionally removes graffiti from pre-coated steel. Moreover, we can apply a new coat of paint in a matching colour. These high-quality paints are mixed on-site to achieve the exact right colour. That way, we will return your façade to its original condition.

Did your building suffer graffiti damage recently? Or would you like to have older graffiti removed professionally? Feel free to contact us.

FAQ
What products do you use? Are they the same as the coating on the panels?

No two colours or buildings are the same. Even if they have the same RAL code or name, every new coil will have a different colour or appearance. This is because most pigments for paints and lacquers are derived from nature, so their properties may differ from shipment to shipment. This phenomenon has an extra dimension in case of metallics, which professionals call “flop”. Flop refers to the way the metallic particles are positioned on the surface. This can result in a darker or lighter effect. It's not unlike a high-pile rug: the colour doesn't change, but you get lighter or darker spots depending on the position of the piles.

Properties and sheeting panels always suffer from discolouration over the years! One of our specialisations is “retinting”. This means we use the right pigments to touch up the damage, so it matches the existing colour.

Van Heemskerk is an expert in mixing the most suitable colour during repairs! We strive for customer satisfaction by making our repairs “virtually invisible!”

What is an anti-graffiti coating?

Anti-graffiti coatings are transparent paints with an extremely fine structure, based on nanotechnology. This dense structure makes it very difficult for graffiti to adhere to the surface, which will discourage vandals. Moreover, these coatings have dirt-repellent properties and are very easy to clean. Van Heemskerk is an expert in anti-graffiti coatings and knows how to apply them correctly.

Please note: if this coating is only applied to the lower parts of the panels, these areas will get a deeper colour and gloss effect than the rest.

  • As a top coat over existing paint systems;
  • Paint systems based on nanotechnology;
  • Very dense structure, non-adhesive for graffiti;
  • Dirt-repellent and easy to clean;
  • All colours;
  • All coatings.
My anti-graffiti coating is coming loose, what do I do?

Some anti-graffiti coatings are insufficiently UV or chemically resistant. As a result, the top coat will start peeling over time. 2-component systems, on the other hand, perform far better and have a longer lifespan.

I have damage to report. What is the best way to contact you?

It's easiest to contact the regional expert in question via email. You can find more information about this on the right-hand side of this page. Please attach pictures to your request. You can also fill out the online form, and we will contact you as soon as possible.

However, it is difficult to make an accurate assessment based on a picture, so we regularly visit locations throughout the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. This means we are likely to be able to drop by and take a look at your damage!
