Professional removal of cement residue and concrete splatters

Concrete spatters or cement residue on sandwich panels and sheeting: not only do they look ugly, but they can even cause additional damage in the long run. It's important to have residue and splatters removed quickly and professionally. In most cases, Van Heemskerk will be able to professionally clean or restore your façade.

During construction, concrete or cement may splatter onto your façade. Be careful when cleaning this. Concrete and cement residue is sharp and abrasive and can cause scratches and stains. Most coatings can handle the pollution, but the scratches are another story. We can professionally clean façade panels on-site. Often, this is enough to solve the problem. However, in some cases, the substrate may be damaged, in which case the paint will have to be touched up. This is also done on-site. We specialise in repairing coatings. Van Heemskerk has a wealth of experience with these types of pollution and will always provide a tailored solution.

When it comes to damage repair techniques, Van Heemskerk is a master. We only work with high-quality, proven paint systems, derived, among others, from the automotive sector. Van Heemskerk has proven itself as a leading expert in damage repairs to company buildings and properties.

FAQ
My façade is covered in cement residue. Can this be fixed properly?

If the right techniques and materials are used, cement and concrete residue can be removed through cleaning. If cleaning doesn't yield the desired results, the concrete residue can be removed manually, after which the treated components are recoated. We only resort to recoating if the substrate is damaged (after all).

What products do you use to clean and recoat surfaces?

We use various cleaning products for various applications. The products we use are suitable for panels and sheeting.

The products we use for recoating are derived from the automotive sector and were specifically designed for repairs to sandwich panels and profiles. The paints seamlessly fit the applied coil coat when it comes to durability and appearance. We are familiar with all types of coating systems and always have the most common colours in stock.

What is the deal with colour differences?

No two colours or buildings are the same. Even if they have the same RAL code or name, every new coil will have a different colour or appearance. This is because most pigments for paints and lacquers are derived from nature, so their properties may differ from shipment to shipment. This phenomenon has an extra dimension in case of metallics, which professionals call “flop”. This refers to the way metallic particles are positioned on the surface, which can result in a darker/lighter effect. You can compare this to a high-pile carpet. The colour doesn't change, but if you run your hand over it, you will get lighter and darker areas.

Buildings and panels suffer from discolouration over the years. One of our specialisations is “retinting”. This means we use the right pigments to touch up the damage so it matches the existing colour.

Van Heemskerk is an expert in mixing the most suitable colour during repairs. We strive for customer satisfaction by making our repairs “virtually invisible.”

What does it cost?

It is hard to estimate the costs in advance. They depend on a variety of factors, such as size, lighting, accessibility, paint type and local circumstances.

The price is also affected by the costs of replacement, dismantling and removal of the surrounding construction, which can cause damage, leaks etc. Sandwich panels are often attached with hidden fasteners and cannot simply be removed. On top of that, new deliveries almost invariably differ in colour, which means that repairs and spraying are often a more affordable option.
